Settled In

It's been quite awhile since my last post. The last time I posted was before I moved to my new home. That was three months ago! It's been crazy here, but I feel like I'm settled in now. I've got several projects that I want to work on for Christmas. This year I thought I'd make some quilted Christmas ornaments. Should be fun!

On to the next

So another project done. I finally finished my son's quilt. It turned out beautiful!
Now on to the next... Of course with Christmas coming up it will be a gift that is next on the list. I am going to finish one of my UFO's and give it to my mother. It's a really cute "block of the month" quilt using 19th century reproduction fabric. All that is left to do is the sashing, borders, quilting, binding and then the label.
I can do it!

I love this picture. My beautiful niece took it out in my back garden. My Son made these stairs for me so that I could get to the upper layer of the garden. I have such talented kids around me!

In between quilting and work I've been dabbling in photography.
This is a picture of an old barn near my house that is slated to be demolished.
I just love a beautiful old barn, it's sad that they are just going to tear it down.

One down, several to go...

This is the quilt that I have been working hard to get done. It's finally finished and hanging on my family room wall.

Now I'm working on finishing my son's quilt. The top is all done, just waiting to be quilted and then the finishing touches.

Updates on my updates...

Whoa it's been a bit... I need to do updates on my updates. I got caught up in finishing a quilt that was waiting on the stack for it's binding. I hung it on the wall in my family room. It looks great! I'll try to get a pic of it up in the next couple of days. It's been pretty busy at work and I've had to put in a few hours of overtime. Needless to say I've not got quite as much done as I would have hoped. I'm looking forward to this weekend and getting some sewing projects closer to being done. My son is very anxious to get his quilt so I'm sure that's what I'll be working on...

Updates

A few updates. I am currently taking a break from getting the kitchen and family room ready to paint. We've been taping the trim and cabinets all morning. The guys had to stop for the OSU game that just started. I told them they could have an hour before we start painting.
I received the movie that I bought off of ebay the other day, the one that I had been trying to find for years. It was really good. Just about as good as I remembered from my preteen years. It also came with a movie called Embryo with Rock Hudson that I have not seen. I'm hoping to get to watch it tomorrow night while I'm relaxing from all the painting.
Well I'm off to finish taping and then to get the guys some sustenance.
